Our Mission

The April Follies Organizing committee is an all volunteer group of dancers and dance enthusiasts committed to supporting and encouraging partner dancing by producing dance competitions and events. 100% of our net revenue is returned to the community for that purpose. We adhere to the principles of non-profit organizations and operate in an inclusive and transparent manner.

Thank you all for making April Follies 2009 the biggest and best ever! We were thrilled by the numbers of dancers, the quality of the dancing, the fabulous energy, and the excitement and fun we've all come to love about our same-sex competitions. April Follies Videos and Photos Now Available!

Videos of April Follies 2009 can be purchased--$15 for a Competition Video (2-DVD set) and $10 for a Show Video (1 DVD). Both of these contain FULL COVERAGE of each event. Shipping cost is additional. Contact Roke at 510-681-9740 or roke.noir@gmail.com

Join NASSPDA!

The organization our community created a little more than a year ago is in business and open for memberships! The Board you elected to create the North American Same-Sex Partner Dance Association (with the almost unpronouncable acronym NASSPDA) has been hard at work creating policies, procedures, and a dynamite social networking website. April Follies was thrilled to have been selected by NASSPDA as the site of the 2009 North American Championships (as well as the California State Championships)! Just so you know, NASSPDA eligibility rules require that at least one member of top couple be a NASSPDA member to receive a NASSPDA North American Champion title. Check out nasspda.org for a list of other member benefits.

The first annual community meeting of NASSPDA was held April 26, 2009 at the Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville, CA. Details about the meeting can be found on the NASSPDA website.
