This entire event is organized and supported by the work of volunteers. It is a fun-filled and invigorating (at times exhausting) adventure benefitting hundreds of people and establishing a strong foundation for our same-sex dance community. Seeing the excitement in the eyes of the new dancers and the passion in the eyes of the experienced is special. April Follies 2010 promises to be the best Bay Area same-sex dance event to date. We are thrilled to invite you back for an even bigger and better all day dancesport classic in our beautiful venue, with a top-notch competition, a buffet dinner, and performances by some of the best same-sex dancers in the world. April Follies 2010

Come spend a glorious day and evening with us. Compete in or watch the exciting dance competitions during the day and witness the variety of talent in the same-sex dance community. Join us for dinner before the evening's spectacular dance show, then let your feet carry you across the dance floor for social dancing before and after the show. Delight in inspiring performances by fabulous dancers from Florida, New York, Canada, Colorado, as well as California. Join us for an unforgettable day and evening of dancing.

April Follies 2010 will take place on April 24th, 2010 between 10 am and 11 pm. It will be held at the stunning Just Dance Ballroom in Oakland, CA.

Join NASSPDA!

The organization our community created a little more than two years ago is thriving! The Board you elected to create the North American Same-Sex Partner Dance Association (with the almost unpronouncable acronym NASSPDA) has created policies, procedures, and a dynamite social networking website. The Board is now working on creating competition rules and policies to ensure consistency, inclusion, and fairness in North American same-sex competition April Follies is delighted to have been selected by NASSPDA as the site of the California State Championships. Check out nasspda.org for a list of other member benefits.

An information and open discussion meeting will be held by NASSPDA April 25, 2010 in Oakland. Watch this space for time and location. NASSPDA Board members will report to you on the NASSPDA Annual Meeting, March 28, in Phildelphia. Mark your calendars! Come to the meeting to find out what NASSPDA is doing for you, and let your Board know what you'd like to see going forward. You do not have to be a member to attend.
